Kitui Deputy Governor Augustine Kanani, has strongly refuted allegations that Governor Malombe is neglecting the Mwingi region, asserting that the governor is committed to developing all parts of Kitui County.
Kanani dismissed images circulating online that depict Kyuso as lacking water, emphasizing that the town has sufficient water supplies and good roads provided by the Kitui County Government. He described those spreading these false claims as “mathethi,” a Kamba term for individuals with malicious intentions.
“There is no place in Kitui that lacks projects initiated by the county government,” Kanani stated, criticizing detractors of the Kitui Agricultural Show and Trade Fair. He defended the event, highlighting its importance in equipping local farmers and investors with skills for smart agriculture.
Kanani assured the public that Kitui remains under the capable leadership of Governor Malombe and that no amount of intimidation will hinder the county’s transformative agenda.
The deputy governor made these remarks during the second day of the Kitui Agricultural Show and Trade Fair at Ithookwe Showground. The event was attended by notable figures including Governor Malombe, Kitui Central MP Makali Mulu, and Kitui County Commissioner Kipchumba Rutto.
