Kericho MCAs Unanimously Impeach County Secretary Over Alleged Violations
Kericho Members of County Assembly (MCAs) have unanimously passed a motion to impeach County Secretary Dr. Wesley Bor, citing gross violations of the constitution, breaches of the County Government Act, and incompetence.
Kapsaos MCA Paul Bii, who moved the motion, stated that the MCAs had been closely monitoring Dr. Bor’s conduct following numerous complaints from county staff and members of the public. Bii highlighted allegations against Dr. Bor, including the unprocedural redeployment of county staff without adhering to the Human Resource Management Policy and the County Government Act of 2012.
Ainamoi MCA Cheruiyot Bett further added that Dr. Bor was adversely mentioned by an ADHOC Committee formed to investigate the misappropriation of funds meant for victims of the Londiani accident. Additionally, Bett accused Dr. Bor of misappropriating Ksh 39 million allocated for the Kazi Mtaani project, alleging that the money was lost through companies associated with him.
“We are now awaiting the formation of a select committee, comprising no more than five members, to investigate the allegations and produce a report,” Cheruiyot said.
The impeachment motion signifies the MCAs’ commitment to ensuring accountability and transparency within the county government, as they seek a thorough investigation into the allegations against Dr. Bor.
