Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, accompanied by his spouse Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, extended a warm welcome to Princess Angel, the 11-year-old prodigy who captivated hearts with her stirring poem during the Akurinu National Prayers Conference at Nakuru High School, Nakuru County, last Sunday.
Describing Princess Angel as exceptionally gifted, the Deputy President affirmed his commitment to nurturing her talent by personally ensuring her access to quality education.
“We cannot afford to let such remarkable talent go unrecognized. We’ve secured her a spot at Utawala Academy; she will commence her studies immediately,” stated the Deputy President.
Mr. Gachagua underscored the significance of identifying and fostering talent, particularly among individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds, as a means of socio-economic empowerment.
Expressing her joy and gratitude, Princess Angel, accompanied by her mother Ann Kariuki, conveyed her appreciation for the Deputy President’s generosity and vowed to work diligently to fulfill her aspirations of becoming a prominent lawyer.
“I am thrilled to meet Deputy President Riggy G. It’s a moment I’ve eagerly awaited. Thank you, Deputy President, for recognizing my talent. I promise to dedicate myself to my studies and support other talented children from less privileged backgrounds,” remarked Angel.
Encouraging her peers to embrace their talents, Angel emphasized the transformative power of self-expression in achieving one’s destiny.
Angel’s mother, deeply moved by the Deputy President’s support, expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the opportunity extended to her daughter. She recounted Angel’s spontaneous creation of the poem during their visit, highlighting her daughter’s remarkable aptitude and initiative.
Angel’s poetic performance during the church event, attended by President Ruto, Deputy President Gachagua, Nakuru Governor Susana Kihika, and other dignitaries, left an indelible impression, capturing the attention and admiration of all present.
