Hon. Cyrus Musyoka, popularly known as Sonko, the dynamic MCA for Ikanga/Kyatune Ward, joined hands with his Kisasi Ward counterpart, Hon. Nicholas Mutemi, today at Ikanga Market to firmly oppose the impeachment of CECM Finance, Peter Kilonzo. The two leaders passionately called on those spearheading the impeachment to abandon such useless efforts and instead focus on supporting Governor Malombe’s administration in delivering critical services to the people of Kitui County.
Hon. Sonko emphasized his unwavering commitment to serving his people, asserting that his top priority is ensuring justice and development for the people of Kitui South. He made it clear that he would not stand by and watch injustice befall Peter Kilonzo, a fellow Kitui South native who has consistently supported the county’s leadership. Pledging his full support to Governor Malombe’s agenda, Sonko outlined his focus on improving roads, ensuring access to clean water, and spearheading other vital development projects in his ward. He vowed to resist any actions that would derail these efforts, stating that opposing the Governor’s administration would only hurt the people he represents a responsibility he refuses to neglect.
Sonko’s vision and transformative leadership have earned him admiration across Kitui South, with many viewing him as a rising star in local politics. Poised to vie for the Kitui South MP seat under the Wiper Party in the 2027 general election, Sonko has positioned himself as a youthful, results-oriented leader with a clear vision for change. His principled stand in support of Peter Kilonzo and governor Malombe’s administration has further endeared him to the people, solidifying his reputation as a defender of justice and progress.
Kisasi MCA, Hon. Nicholas Mutemi, widely known as Rollon, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the futility of pursuing an impeachment that lacks merit while the people of Kitui face pressing challenges. He called for unity and collaboration among leaders to focus on the real issues affecting their communities.
The two leaders were speaking at the launch of the Muamba Federation CBO, an initiative comprising 110 active self-help groups with a membership of 2,335 individuals across Ikanga/Kyatune Ward. This milestone event underscored the need for leaders to prioritize development and empowerment over divisive politics. Together, Hon. Sonko and Hon. Mutemi have set an inspiring example of leadership driven by vision, service, and unwavering dedication to the people of Kitui County.
