Kitui County MCAs accolade with praise their counterpart Yatta/Kwa Vonza Ward MCA, Hon. Mark Kitute Nding’o, for his exceptional leadership and relentless advocacy for the development of his ward. His efforts to lobby for key development projects have propelled Yatta/Kwa Vonza to the forefront of progress within Kitui County, earning it the title of the most developed ward countywide.
The commendation came during a public event in Konza, Kwa Vonza, organized to wish Wiper-nominated MCA Hon. Elizabeth Mulu a swift recovery following her hospitalization. Mulu, the widow of the late Ukambani gospel icon Jeremiah Mulu, was undergoing medical treatment after a period of ill health.
At the event, several of Hon. Nding’o’s colleagues from the Kitui County Assembly, including Ngomeni MCA Hon. Nzungi Ngwele, hailed his commitment to the people of yatta/ Kwa Vonza ward . Hon. Ngwele emphasized the importance of Hon. Nding’o’s dedication to serving his people through tireless lobbying for infrastructure and social projects, which have transformed the ward.
“Hon. Nding’o’s zeal and drive to ensure his people get the best is unmatched. He has successfully lobbied for more development projects in his ward than any other MCA in Kitui County,” said Hon. Ngwele. “His networks are strong, and his ability to connect with key stakeholders has set him apart. Some may be envious of his success, but we must appreciate and learn from his strategies.”
The praise was echoed by several other MCAs present, including Hon. Waziri Bakari, Hon. Rose Kathoka, Hon. Munyoki Mwinzi, and Hon. Nzilu Nzioka, who noted that Hon. Nding’o’s leadership had transformed Kwa Vonza into a model ward for the entire county.
“Hon. Nding’o’s efforts prove that success in leadership is often as much about building strong networks as it is about hard work and dedication. His ability to bring resources to his people is a testament to his effectiveness as a leader,” added Hon. Bakari.
As Hon. Mark Nding’o continues to lead with transformation and vision, his popularity and strong network are propelling him as a key figure in the political landscape of Kitui County. While he has not publicly expressed any interest in pursuing a higher political office, such as the position of Member of Parliament for Kitui Rural, his influence and the widespread admiration for his leadership have made such discussions inevitable. The people of Yatta/Kwa Vonza and the broader Kitui Rural constituency have repeatedly voiced their appreciation for his work, making it clear that should he decide to seek the MP seat in the future, he would be a formidable contender.
For now, the focus remains on his continued work for his ward, but the 2027 elections may very well reveal whether Hon. Nding’o will heed the call of the people and extend his development agenda to a larger platform.
The event also served as a reminder of the importance of collaboration and mutual support among Kitui’s leaders to continue advancing the county’s development agenda. The MCAs commended Hon. Nding’o not only for his achievements but also for being a beacon of inspiration for his peers.
Kwa Vonza residents, too, have witnessed first-hand the positive impacts of the MCA’s leadership, from improved infrastructure to increased access to social services. His tenure has raised the standard for what’s possible when leadership is focused on tangible results for the people.
As Kitui County continues to evolve, Hon. Nding’o’s success story serves as a shining example of what can be achieved through dedication, effective lobbying, and a deep commitment to the welfare of one’s community.
