Raila Odinga’s bid for the African Union Commission (AUC) Chairperson position has gained significant momentum, with endorsements from 23 countries across the continent. The AUC’s constitution mandates that a candidate must secure at least 34 votes to win the prestigious role, leaving Odinga just 11 votes shy of the required majority.
The countries backing Odinga’s candidacy include a diverse mix of regional powers and smaller nations, showcasing broad support for the Kenyan leader’s vision for the African Union. The list of endorsing nations features:
