Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has called on his party’s Members of Parliament to reject the appointment of ODM members nominated for Cabinet Secretary positions.
Speaking at Kyuso Full Gospel Church, Musyoka advised Wiper legislators to vote against the four nominees – John Mbadi, Wycliffe Oparanya, Hassan Joho, and Opiyo Wandayi – when they appear in parliament for vetting.
The Azimio co-principal questioned the compatibility of the nominees with the government, highlighting that they had previously opposed it on grounds of oppressing Kenyans. Furthermore, Musyoka expressed his discontent over not being consulted during the nomination process, despite his significant role in the coalition. He emphasized that one of the nominees, Opiyo Wandayi, serves as the coalition’s minority whip in the National Assembly, making the lack of consultation even more concerning.
Musyoka also declared his disinterest in joining the government as a Cabinet Secretary, stating his commitment to fighting for a better country alongside the younger generation. Criticizing ODM members for their decision to align with the Kenya Kwanza administration, Musyoka reiterated his refusal to work under President William Ruto’s government.
