Speaker Hon. Kinengo Katisya publicly praised Governor Julius Malombe for his intervention in a recent legal predicament in Dubai. Kinengo was detained due to unresolved issues linked to former Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu.
Kinengo highlighted Governor Malombe’s compassionate leadership and quick action, which he said would be forever appreciated by himself, the Kitui County Assembly, and the residents of Kitui. He emphasized that Malombe’s efforts not only secured his release but also demonstrated his commitment to serving the people.
The speaker also commended Governor Malombe’s ongoing efforts to transform Kitui County. He assured the governor of the county assembly’s full support in implementing his 16-point agenda, emphasizing that the assembly members are dedicated to advancing Kitui and will not be swayed to oppose Malombe, whose work is evident and commendable.
The incident traces back to former Governor Ngilu’s administration, when a planned government retreat to Dubai was abruptly canceled, leading to financial losses for the hotel. This cancellation resulted in a legal dispute and ultimately Kinengo’s detention. Governor Malombe’s intervention resolved the matter, highlighting his proactive and servant leadership style.
