Dennis Basweti was exonerated by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Wednesday as the search continues for suspects involved in criminal activities during the anti-Finance Bill 2024 protests.
The DCI acknowledged that Basweti’s photo had been mistakenly included among those of wanted persons. Responding to the DCI’s call for listed individuals to assist with investigations, Basweti surrendered himself at the Kenyenya DCI offices earlier in the day and recorded a statement.
Basweti clarified that the photos circulated, allegedly showing him inside parliament during the protests, were actually taken on June 10, 2024, during a visit arranged by his MP, Silvanus Osoro.
