Dr. Vincent Munyoki, through the Vincent Munyoki Foundation, attended a parliamentary meeting for youths in Kitui West, where he committed to supporting and empowering them to tap into income-generating opportunities.
Dr. Munyoki emphasized the importance of establishing a Community-Based Organization (CBO) for Kitui West youth parliamentarians, which would enable effective lobbying for donor support and ensure proper utilization of resources. This initiative targets both unemployed graduates and current students from various universities and colleges.
Highlighting the potential of the digital era, Dr. Munyoki encouraged the youth to seize online job opportunities. He praised President Ruto for his efforts in promoting online employment and for installing public Wi-Fi in several counties, including Kitui. Dr. Munyoki stressed that these digital initiatives could significantly reduce youth unemployment in Kenya and across Africa.
Additionally, Dr. Munyoki has requested President Ruto to establish training centers in Kitui West to equip youths with the necessary skills for online jobs. Besides digital opportunities, he pledged to initiate other income-generating projects, such as poultry farming, to diversify the economic prospects for the youth.
The meeting, which gathered youths from all wards of Kitui West constituency, took place at Kabati Vision Lounge in Kabati Market, Kitui County.
